Neath Port Talbot is a county borough with principal towns including Neath, Port Talbot and Pontardawe. Its Welsh name is Castell-nedd Port Talbot. It is the third most populous county borough and the eighth-most populous local authority area in Wales. Back in 2011 the population came in at 139,812. Interestingly a majority of residents in the coastal areas speak English while the valleys in the north have a larger number of people speaking Welsh.

Mountain bikers will find Afan Forest Park in the Afan Valley one of the best places in the whole of the country for venturing out on two wheels with a brilliant range of mountain bike trails suitable for everyone from experts to those simply after a gentle ride taking in the sights. Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre and Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre offer first-rate facilities for visitors including bike shops fitted out with all the gear you and your bike will need, campsites, cafes and useful information on all the mountain bike trails. Of course, Afan Forest Park isn’t just for the mountain bikers, walkers and hikers too enjoying the different routes. The Rheilfordd cycle trail for example offers a gentler trail that meanders along the valley floor.

The Vale of Neath is truly a sight to behold. Alfred Russel Wallace – the famous 19th century naturalist – once wrote, ‘I cannot call to mind a single valley that in the same extent of country comprises so much beautiful and picturesque scenery and so many interesting and special features as the Vale of Neath’. You can’t get much better praise than that. The area treats its visitors to a series of beautiful waterfalls known as Waterfall Country (or Bro’r Sgydau in Welsh) that border the Brecon Beacons National Park. The layers of shale, limestone and sandstone have created an eye-catching environment of caves and waterfalls.

It’s not just the waterfalls though that will catch your eye, the area containing a Special Area of Conservation and two Sites of Special Scientific Interest. These offer a wealth of wild and plantlife including oak and ash trees, over 200 species of mosses, ferns and liverworts.

Perhaps the best visual of all belongs to Sgwd-y-Eira – meaning ‘fall of snow’ – on the River Hepste where the path leads you right behind the curtain of falling water. On average the area receives roughly 300,000 visitors a year of all types – from walkers to photographers to climbers to even canoeists.

The town of Neath meanwhile is worth a visit too, this historical market town offering everything from cafes to pubs and shops. The indoor market too is a highlight selling traditional goods. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to grabbing a bite the town offering all sorts of cuisines including Indian, Chinese and of course local Welsh cooking. The Norman castle Neath Castle is located right in the heart of the town, and dates back all the way to 1114 when it was constructed by Robert, Earl of Gloucester. It’s a striking building and one that highlights the rich history of the town of Neath.

Great service from this local company. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so helpful with advice over the phone to even popping around! So pleased to have bought our tub from them

Great local company!

Excellent service. When I rang them to explain my hot tub needed a good clean they not only told me they had a deal on they also had someone round to my house the very next morning.

Excellent service

Excellent service, very helpful consultation and delivery and installation went without a hitch (unusual for us, there's normally issues with anything we do!). Had it a few days and so far so good, love the experience.
